How to View Cookies
A "cookie" is a small text file that’s stored in your Internet browser. Cookies serve the purpose of storing your user information for the various Web sites you visit. Without cookies, a Web site cannot remember your account or browsing history.
EditSteps
Internet Explorer
- 1Open Internet Explorer.
- 2Click on “Tools.” It is in the main menu area of the Internet Explorer browser.
- 3Scroll down and select “Internet Options.” This is part of the "tools" menu.
- 4Look under the Browsing History section on the General settings tab.
- 5Press the “Settings” button.
- 6Select the “View Files” button.
- 7Scroll down until you see the files labeled as cookies.
Mozilla Firefox
- 1Open Firefox.
- 2Select the “Tools” option from the main menu of the Firefox.
- 3Find the “Options” setting on the tools menu and click on it.
- 4Click on the “Privacy” button.
- 5Locate the “Remove Individual Cookies”
- 6You can now view the cookies of your Browser.
Google Chrome
- 1Open Google Chrome.
- 2Click the Chrome menu on the browser toolbar.
- 3Select“Settings” from the menu.
- 4Click "Show advanced settings".
- 5In the "Privacy" section, click the Content settings button.
- 6Click the "All Cookies and Site Data" button.
- 7You can now view the cookies of your Browser.
Apple Safari
- 1Open Safari.
- 2Click the "Action menu". (Action menu is near the upper-right corner of the Safari window, and looks like a gear.)
- 3Select "Preferences"
- 4Discover the “Privacy” tab and click on it.
- 5If you want to see which websites store cookies on your computer, click "Details".
- 6You can now view the cookies of your browser.
